Can I use my pool during a thunderstorm?

No. It is extremely unsafe to use a swimming pool during a thunderstorm. Water is an excellent conductor of electricity, and lightning poses a serious risk to anyone in or near the pool.

If lightning or thunder is present:

• Clear the pool area immediately.

• Remain out of the water until at least 30 minutes after the last observed lightning strike or sound of thunder.
