Barbados Pool Installation

A compact contemporary pool in Essex

For this Essex swimming pool project, the customer selected the Barbados 5m x 2.8m x 1.35m swimming pool in Metallic Blue. The compact design was chosen to make effective use of the available garden space while still providing a stylish and practical area for relaxation, cooling off and family enjoyment.

Initial planning and site preparation

The customer worked with their groundworker to identify the most suitable position for the pool, taking into account the size of the garden, access for machinery and the planned surrounding terrace. The area was then carefully excavated and prepared to the required dimensions.

Reinforced concrete base

A reinforced concrete base was installed to create a strong, stable and level foundation for the Barbados pool shell. Accurate levelling at this stage was essential to ensure the pool would sit correctly and retain its structural integrity.

Pool delivery and placement

Once the concrete base had cured, the Barbados 5m x 2.8m pool shell was delivered to the property and carefully lowered into the prepared excavation. The shell was checked and levelled before the remaining installation work began.

Plumbing and filtration installation

Following placement, the customer's chosen pool engineer installed the filtration, circulation and plumbing systems. These systems were configured to maintain clean, clear water while providing efficient day-to-day pool operation.

Filling and structural backfilling

The pool was gradually filled with water while the area around the shell was carefully backfilled. Completing these stages together helped balance pressure around the structure and provided consistent support to the pool walls.

Finishing the surrounding area

Once the pool installation was secure, the surrounding area was prepared for paving and landscaping. The compact layout allowed the pool to sit comfortably within the garden while leaving space for seating and outdoor relaxation.
